こんな経験はないだろうか？
夏のある日、一人きりで歩く初めての道。
ジャンジャン目眩がするような蝉時雨の中、左右に分かれた分岐点で進むべきはどちらか既にちゃんと判っている。
反対の道を行けば二度と元の世界に戻っては来られない。
しかしその甘美な誘惑に人はセイレーンの歌声に魅せられた船乗りのように異世界へと舵を切る。
この本を閉じてゆっくりと周りを見て欲しい。
そこは貴方が元いた世界と全くそっくりでありながら、ごくごく注意して見てみるとほんの少しだけ違っていることに気付くだろう。
時間は飴細工のように容易くねじ曲げられ、全ての矛盾が肯定される。
この宇宙を造り出した傲慢にして恭謙な創造主に我々は完敗したと言わざるを得ない。
